Consumers Favorite Best Hybrid Car

Since their introduction into the market, hybrid cars continue to dominate with cutting-edge technology and a wide range of benefits. The hybrid car manufacturers have not rested and are continually looking for more innovative ways of ensuring that the quality of hybrid cars in the market continues to improve. The best hybrid car in the market has so far been the Toyota Prius. The Prius was the first hybrid to be introduced in the market. The journey and progress of the Prius has been steady and it continues to maintain its market share. The car was voted best by a convincing 19% of the consumers in the market. The car boasts of the best fuel economy, its spacious cabin, comfortable ride and the plenty of features that the car provides to the users.

The second place goes to the Ford Fusion. The car is handsomely styled with a relatively sporty feel. The car was voted best by 12% of the consumers in the market. The attractive feature about this car is the supreme fuel efficiency, as well as the affordability of this midsized sedan car. Most consumers consider this car to be a big bargain compared to most other high-end hybrid cars in the market.

Coming in third was the Chevrolet Volt. The car was mostly attractive because of its ability to allow their users to drive around using electricity alone for over 40 miles. The car has also been proven to cruise at speeds of up to 100 mph. This is much higher compared to most other hybrid vehicles in the market. While the Chevrolet Volt is the most fuel-efficient vehicle that you are ever going to get in the market, the problem is that the car is relatively more expensive compared to most of the alternatives available.

Also making the cut is the Lincoln MKZ hybrid vehicle. This made it into the top five hybrid vehicles mostly because of its cost. This is one of the best choices for the people who are looking for a quality entry-level luxury hybrid sedan. It has also been proven to have good fuel efficiency.

Closing the list of top five most popular hybrid vehicles in the Lexus RX 450h, though the vehicle is still relatively expensive it is deemed worth the price. The car delivers on its promise of effective fuel economy, power, luxury, and utility. This is a sure good choice for the people who are looking for quality regardless of the cost.

Hybrid Myths Debunked

There have been a lot of misconceptions about hybrid cars over the years. This has mostly been caused by the fact that these cars still present a relatively new concept in the market. These misconceptions are expected to continue spreading until people finally realize the actual facts about hybrid cars. These are some of the most common misconceptions about these types of cars and the truth.

Hybrids are Less Powerful

The truth of the matter is that most of the early hybrid cars in the market lacked horsepower and performance. Over the years, the technology has improved and the power of modern hybrid cars cannot even be compared to their gasoline-powered counterparts. The power of these vehicles is said to be increasing by the day as hybrid car manufacturers continue to put more effort into improving the performance of these vehicles.

Hybrid Cars Are Too Expensive

It is true that when you compare the price of a hybrid vehicle with that of a gasoline powered vehicle, the hybrids are slightly more expensive. Nevertheless, the truth of the matter is that hybrids are not more expensive when you factor in all the other extra costs that are associated with maintaining the vehicles .Hybrids also come in a wide range of options with different prices. This means that you get to choose the price of the hybrid car that you will be able to afford. With a hybrid vehicle, you are sure to make significant savings in gas, which will reduce the overall cost of ownership.

You Need to Learn How to Drive Hybrid Cars

There has been a big misconception that you need to learn how to drive them. This is because of the somewhat more complicated architecture. The truth of the matter is that you don’t need to do anything differently when driving a hybrid car. You simply need to press your accelerator to drive. The car is able to decide by itself when to use gas and when to use electricity.

Hybrids Have to be Plugged In

Hybrid cars use two sources of energy to power them. When the car runs out of electricity, the car starts using the gasoline engine as the battery recharges itself. This cycle continues as the vehicle continues to move. There are plug-in hybrid cars, that require plugging in, but they are not currently in the majority. Conventional hybrid cars do not need to be plugged in for the batteries to be charged.

Hybrids at the Top of the Green Car Rankings

There has been more hype over the years concerning the advantages of hybrid vehicles. For the fifth year running, the Honda Civic GX gas powered hybrid vehicle was at the top of the green vehicle list. This is according to the rankings released by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy.

The second and third spot goes to the Toyota Prius and the Honda Civic hybrids. The Toyota Prius is one of the oldest hybrid cars in the market, and it has been able to keep up with the market trends and maintain their level of demand and attachment to their customers. The car is very popular because of its known and tested fuel efficiency and its relatively cheap cost. Despite some hybrid cars being taken a notch lower by the new fuel-economy calculations, hybrid cars have still been able to remain at the top of this list. This is because of their proven fuel economy. Other hybrid vehicles that made it into the top ten lists of the greenest hybrid vehicles include the Nissan Altima hybrid vehicle, and the Toyota Camry hybrid. Analysts also say that the Smart For Two and the Toyota Yaris also fall behind the rankings of the greenest hybrid cars in the market because of the their small passenger capacity and environmental benefits.

The score used to evaluate these vehicles involves the measurement of the level of unhealthy tailpipe emissions, global warming emissions and the fuel consumption. The measure is done on a large number of vehicles including trucks, personal cars, and passenger trucks.

Diesel powered cars were poorly ranked this year because of the high level of environmental damaging oxides of nitrogen and particulate matter that they emit. Despite these cars being popular for their fuel economy, these cars were not able to reach the top ten groups. The trend has been to encourage the use of diesel-powered vehicles. The fact of the matter is that these vehicles are still at the rock bottom of the quality of vehicles in the market with regard to global warming.

At bottom of the list is the diesel powered Volkswagen Touareg. This vehicle is the most environmentally unfriendly vehicle that there is on the roads. This vehicle leads the pack of other environmental polluting vehicles such as the Mercedes Benz and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Most green car enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for a vehicle that will be able to pass the emission standards in all of the states in America. This feat is yet to be achieved.

Global Warming and Your Vehicle

There has been increased concern over global warming over the past decade. This is because of the detrimental environmental effects that this problem has posed in most parts of the world. Many businesses and organizations have stepped up their efforts to fight against this problem. Studies show that a gallon of gasoline weights more than 6 pounds. When it is burned, it produces 20 pounds of the poisonous carbon dioxide gas. This means that when you make a switch away from your fuel guzzler you will be able to save the earth a large amount of green house gases.

Recent research shows that the cars and light trucks in the United States consume more than 8.2 million barrels of oil every day. This means that more than 300 million metric tons of carbon dioxide comes from trucks and cars alone each year. The effects of this trend are already being felt with global warming increasing by the day. America has also been proven to produce the largest amounts of CO2 emissions in the world. This is because of the large number of factories, homes and other sources of pollution that help in pilling up the levels of CO2 in the air.

The Environmental Defense department says that over the past ten years, motor vehicle companies have increased the levels of carbon dioxide that they release. This has been caused by the increase in the population who are beginning to use gasoline cars. The biggest global warming leader is General Motors. Despite being the manufacturers of the Prius hybrid car, Toyota is another leading gasoline car producer.

Global warming has many effects on the world. We have the option of heeding these warning signs and switching over to the use of hybrid cars or you could wait until the problems become too difficult to handle. The biggest effect so far can be said to be the thinning of the Arctic ice and the Antarctic shelves. This has caused the rising of sea levels. This has been estimated to increase the number of people affected by flooding to about 50 million. The number of diseases is also bound to rise as a result of the effects of global warming. This is because of the increase in the number of disease carrying mosquitoes that carry malaria, dengue fever and other insect borne disease. Encouraging the use of hybrid cars is bound to reduce the level of environmental pollution and in the end, reduce the level of environmental pollution.

Review of 2013 Honda Accord

Since the inception of the Toyota Prius as the first hybrid car in the market, more manufacturers have joined the hybrid market. The popularity of hybrid cars in the market has been on a steady rise. This has mostly been attributed to the fact that these cars are more fuel efficient and easier to maintain. The increase in popularity has led to more companies joining the market and improving on the features that these cars have to offer. The 2013 Honda Accord is one such entrant in the market. This car provides a number of rich features to drivers. The Honda Company has earned a good reputation from the quality of cars that they have released into the market over the years. The Accord series of cars have been named 26 times to the top 10 cars of the year in America. This has not been an easy feat for the company because it means it has consistently produced quality cars and met the demands of their customers consistently every year.

The current Accord release is a relatively stylized version of the previous Accords. The model is slightly smaller in general and it has a lower roofline. The company however, claims that the interior space of the car is still the same. Though the company hasn’t released any specific information on the car, the vehicle is said to be lighter compared to most of the other previous vehicles.

The 2013 Accord will the first year to make use of the new efficiency- and power-enhancing direct-injection that has been added to the standard 2.4-liter, four-cylinder. The vehicle will also have an available V6 and their new 2.4-liter 4-cylinder architecture. The Honda Accord is expected to deliver top of the class fuel economy. This means that the company has focused their attention on making the vehicle more fuel efficient despite improving on the overall architecture of the vehicle.

On top of introducing a next generation hybrid into the market, Honda is also making plans to introduce a plug-in hybrid into the mix. The plug-in hybrid has been considered by most experts as an improved version of the normal hybrid vehicles. The plug-in hybrid will have a four-cylinder engine and a 6 KW-hour battery with a 120 KW electric motor. This car will be able to travel for up to 15 miles using the battery alone with a top speed of 62 mph. With such plans in place, Honda is sure to take the market by storm.

Purchasing a Hybrid Car

Hybrid cars have proven to be some of the most sought after cars over the past 10 to 15 years. This has mostly been linked with their fuel saving capabilities and lower cost of maintenance. The ever rising cost of fuel, global warming, and the declining economy has further increased the demand and importance of hybrid cars in the market. But as you make the decision to purchase a new hybrid car, you need to ensure that you have done enough background research to determine what is in the market and the kind of features that you need to be looking into when purchasing your new hybrid vehicle.

The vehicle you buy may be running differently and have certain benefits that most of the cars in the road don’t have or even be considered the greenest car option in the market. The fact of the matter is that this is the vehicle that you will be driving along the roads alongside other ordinary cars. Automobile insurance providers appear to have the impression that hybrid cars are less likely to be involved in road accidents when compared to other cars in the market. The fact of the matter, however, is that these vehicles can be involved in an accident as easily as most of the other cars out there. If you are one of those people who are more concerned with safety and insurance, you should look at the safety ratings of the car, as well as the crash test results. You should then measure these units against the fuel economy of the car and your budget. Some of the top cars that you will come up with according to such a measure will probably include the following.

The 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid

This was voted among the best hybrid cars for family use, as well as its money saving capabilities. The safety scale of the car is at about 9.6, while the car sells for about $31,000 at most dealerships.

The 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid

This vehicle features among the top cars because of its low cost. This is perfect for people who are trying to keep their budget as low as possible, while aiming for quality. The fuel economy of the car may not be as impressive as some other hybrid models, but it has a number of features that easily cover for this gap.

The 2013 Chevrolet Volt

This is a relatively more expensive model as it cost slightly more than $34,000 from most dealers. The advantage of the car is in that it has a smooth ride and drives just like a gas-powered car.

Toyota to Roll Out Hybrid Etios

Over the years, Toyota has been one of the leading car manufacturers in the world. Their move to start the production of hybrid vehicles has made them the leading manufacturer of hybrid vehicles in the world. The company is planning on making a hybrid car option for its popular compact sedan Etios. This is a move meant to meet the ever increasing demand for hybrid vehicles in the market. The company also has plans on introducing a production assembly plant in India in an attempt to meet the local demand.

Toyota Kirloskar is one of the subsidiaries of Toyota in the country. Through its subsidiary, Toyota is carrying out feasibility studies to determine the viability of the idea in the country. There are active plans to introduce the Toyota Camry into the market to provide more variety in available models. This is because the company currently only has the Toyota Prius in the Indian market. Increasing the variety has been perceived to be a great way of increasing the demand and appeal of hybrid vehicles in the country.

Toyota was able to sell about 1.2 million hybrid vehicles in 2012. This makes up about 14% of the total sales for the company. The share for the hybrid cars sold in the Indian market is still relatively low compared to most of the other parts of the world. This has brought up the need for the improvement and upgrading of the Camry sedan to nurture the emerging hybrid market in the region. The priority of the initiative is meant to improve on the fuel efficiency of the vehicles and reduce on the cost of acquiring the vehicle. This is a sure way of ensuring that the consumers in India are able to easily choose hybrid car options in the place of the conventional alternatives.

Over the years, Toyota has been selling the Toyota hybrid car in the Indian market. The set back has been the fact that the car attracts an import duty of $1005. This means that the cost of the vehicle doubles by the time it reaches the consumers. This has not done much to increase the popularity of hybrid vehicles.

Hybrid vehicles make use of both a gas engine power and electric power from the car batteries. This means that the car is able to conserve on the amount of fuel that it consumes. There is often some confusion of hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles. The difference is that hybrid vehicles make use of at least two sources of power, while electric vehicles make use of only electricity.

Toyota Plans to Increase Hybrids in India

The success of the adoption of the Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle has encouraged Toyota to increase the number of vehicles they have in the market. The increased use of hybrid vehicles has been spurred by the increasing campaigns by various market stakeholders for more environmental friendly alternatives. These vehicles have also been proven to be more fuel-efficient. Considering the state of the economy, it seems to be the best alternative for most of the middle class people in the economy. These are the people who make up the majority of the population.

Toyota works in India through its joint venture with Kirloskar Group. The company is considering the prospect of assembling these cars in the country as the demand for hybrid vehicles increases in the future. There has been adequate study in the Indian market after the introduction of the Toyota Prius. The company plans on continue with the study as they plan to place more hybrid cars into the market.

The company is planning to introduce at least 18 more hybrid cars into the Indian market by 2015. Out of all these, 13 will be completely new hybrid vehicles and the remaining five will be improvements and adjustments on some of the current models to make them more suitable for the Indian market. The company is still not vocal about the idea of starting an assembling plant for hybrid vehicles in any of the present plants. The company says that this will be dependent on the market dynamics in the future.

The company is currently selling only one of their hybrid vehicle models in the market. The vehicle is fully imported and there is no assembly or modification of the vehicle in the country. The demand for the vehicles has increased over the years by more than 70 percent over the past two financial periods.

Toyota unveiled the first hybrid vehicle in 1997 and so far, the company has been able to sell a total of about 51.25 lakh units (5,125,000 units) in the world. At present, the company has developed about 19 hybrid vehicles and rolled them into the market. The vehicles comprise of 13 Toyota and 6 Lexus brands. As part of their broader innovative measures, the company also introduced the plug-in hybrid vehicle, which is an improvement over other hybrids in the market. The company has been able to increase their market penetration to over 80 countries. With the ever-increasing popularity of hybrid vehicles, it is expected that their popularity will continue to grow.
